The Reichstag.
Monuments of wartime are everywhere here, from remnants of the Wall to Checkpoint Charlie.
Checkpoint Charlie
We must backtrack some here as this was a very large day for us. Our ship docked at Warnemunde and we literally walked off the ship, onto a train for the 2.5 hour trip into Berlin. Viking does a super job of organizing and this has to be their best yet. 730 us us took the train into Berlin and nobody got lost or left behind. Each coach had 2 local guides who provided us with maps and information. When we got into the train station, we were put on busses for a 1.5 hour city tour. This orientation was perfect, especially explaining the city layout. We toured both East and West Berlin. At the end of the tour we were let out at the Hilton Hotel in a large square and told to be back at 2:15. When we returned, back on the bus to another train station for the ride back to the ship. We were served wine and beer on the return trip. When we arrived at the ship all 730 of us had to go through German security. It was quite a site to see the very long line of very tired travellers. Once through security, many of the staff were there, singing and welcoming us back ... also had champagne and hot chocolate. A really wonderful day and we sure slept well!
Here are some photos ...

One of the many beautiful canals.
I am intrigued by city manhole covers. They are very well done, depicting the city's history. So many photos...too many to post.
What a wonderful day! Even did a geocache😜
All for now, love to all.....
