This was our third time in Malaga, the last time was 3 1/2 years ago when we boarded the Tera Mona with Bob and Francine. The dock looks the same except for the giant London Eye.
We took a bus tour to see some of the grand old 19th century structures in Malaga including City Hall, the Old Justice Court, central post office and the beautiful Alcazaba Palace. We drove up to the Gibraltar castle and enjoyed the view of the city below.
The bull ring is still in weekly use and our ship can be seen in the background.
We then started a walking tour of the old downtown.
This Roman amphitheater dates 1BC and is still operating. Seats don't look very comfortable.
The bell tower of the 16th century Renaissance Cathedral rises behind one of the many pedestrian only streets. We probably mistakenly drove this one with Bob and Francine on our way to the Picasso museum 3 1/2 years ago!
Back on the ship we enjoyed lunch outside and spent time on the sun deck. Nice putting green as well as any piece of gym equipment you would ever want. Nobody using it!
All for today .... love to all
Lovely, thanks for sharing !
ReplyDeleteIf you guys get a day with rough seas, Eric should definitely try the putting green then! The roll of the ship will add an extra challenge of timing/aim. :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the Roman amphitheatre. Didn't know about that while we were there. Next time.....!!
Just getting caught up on your blog now.... I'm a bit behind!! Love the old stonework. Looks like an amazing city!!!
